So now that January is over, let’s be honest: how many of you fell of the wagon and failed with your resolutions? Don’t worry, most of us do. The thing with losing weight is that it’s not something that happens overnight and those who are successful don’t eat perfectly 24/7. It’s a lifestyle and you don’t change your lifestyle in one day or in one month. It takes time and you should be thriving for progress instead of perfection! So today, I want to help you and I’m going to share with you my top 3 weight loss tips. And don’t worry, it’s nothing too crazy 😉
- Get active outside the gym. I see so many people focusing ONLY on their time spent in the gym. But you know what? If you spend one hour in the gym each day and the rest just sitting on the couch or at a desk, you’re not going to get the results you want. Aim to get at least 10 000 steps per day. How do you do that? Take a 10 min walk every hour or so. Park your car a little further than you normally would. Walk your dog. There are tons of ways to walk more and it makes a huge difference! Most people living in cities like New York, where you need to walk a lot to get anywhere, tend to be slimmer even though they don’t work out a lot or they don’t eat super healthy. That’s because they are very active during the day and that makes a big difference! So try it and you’ll notice a difference 🙂
- Eat more veggies. Especially more greens. Vegetables are very low in calories so you can eat a ton of veggies, feel full longer because they’re packed with fiber and lose weight. And your skin will thank you as well!
- Sleep more. This is the most important one, really. You burn most of your calories when you sleep and when you are sleep deprived, you tend to eat more as I explained in a previous post. Your body is stressed as well and everybody knows that stress is one of the main thing stopping you from losing weight. 8 hours of sleep is what I would recommend.
As you can see, when you want to lose weight you should focus on the time you spend OUTSIDE the gym just as much as the time you spend inside the gym. Follow these tips and you will see a difference!
